Principal Message

Hello everyone,

Traditional schooling is not for everyone. For a variety of reasons, some people do better in a different environment with more flexibility. For you, as a student, this flexibility lets you work at a time of day and a pace that works for you. This kind of learning only works when you are serious about wanting to learn, and when you are responsible enough to put in a steady effort over time. Our staff are here to support you in whatever way we can. Often, that means helping you with a course question, but it can also mean helping you access help in other areas of your life. We are here to listen and to help all students who are serious about their learning.
I am Michel Despins, the new principal of Blessed Sacrament Outreach.  I am also principal of the School of Hope, an online school in Vermilion, so I am used to working with students who learn better outside the usual classroom. Because I am in Vermilion, this means I will not be working daily from BSO, but dropping in regularly to check things out. Our Vice-principal, Dwayne Coffey, will be working from the outreach center a few days a week as well to assist students and staff as needed. On behalf of all students and families, I want to thank Rick Roberts for all the years he has helped students at BSO as principal. He has made a real difference to many people, and will be missed.
I would like to assure you that it is our intention to keep BSO as the welcoming, safe, and inviting place to learn it has always been.  We look forward to working with you for the foreseeable future to help you learn and move closer to some of your goals.

Take care and God Bless,

Michel Despins
